scrubEx Scrub Stations

There are several scrubEx Station locations where you can Take/Return scrubs

  • Mission Bay Men’s A2522 and Women’s locker room A2525, 2nd floor Adult building
  • Mission Bay Children’s building, 2nd floor PEDS area C2914 (scrub return located in Pedi Locker Rooms)
  • Mission Bay Labor & Delivery, 3rd Floor Children’s building A3630
  • Mount Zion, 4th floor scrub station B402
  • Parnassus Women’s locker room, 5th floor L353
  • Parnassus ED storage closet, next to the ED parking lot entry M537
  • Parnassus 2nd Floor M287

How to use the scrubEx Scrub Station?

scrubEx works with your badge access. Tap your ID badge on the card reader, open the door and the scrubEx machine will dispense the correct size scrub within a few seconds.

How do I return scrubs in the scrubEx Scrub Station?

When returning scrubs, tap your ID badge on the card reader, open the door and return BOTH top and bottom at the same time. The machine does not issue half credits. You will lose your credit if you only return one article of scurbs.

Draping the scrub across the return bin will cause issues with the machine, affecting anyone else trying to use it after.

Important Information and FAQs

  • If I already selected my scrub set size, how can I change it?

To change scrub size, use the pin pad, select F (first) and then the collect button.

NOTE: If you do not have it changed with our scrubEx contact below, then you will have to do this manually every time.

  • I returned my scrubs but didn’t get credit for it. What should I do?

PYXIS Scrub Stations

There is only one Scrub Station location where you can Take/Return scrubs: 

  • OR Men’s Locker Room located on M537. To get access, go to the OR located on the 4th Floor then proceed through the double doors and then up the stairs. 

How to use the Pyxis Scrub Station?

There are 2 types of Scrub Stations, an Issue and a Return. The Issue Station is where you get your scrubs. It has 7 access doors that contain different scrub set sizes. The Return Station is where you deposit your scrubs. It has a pull down Handle where there’s a slot for the shirt and pants. 

To get scrubs, proceed to the Issue Station where you will see a display screen. Using the keyboard, enter your login. The station will start to rotate inside and then stop where you will hear a click. Look for the door that has a flashing green light. Open the door and take your scrubs. Repeat process if you are planning to take more than one set. 

To return scrubs, proceed to the Return Station where you will see a display screen. Using the keyboard, enter your login. Pull down the handle and place the shirt and pants (one set at a time) in the slot provided then lift the handle back to it beginning position. On the display screen, you will get confirmation that 2 pieces of garment has been accepted. Repeat process if you are returning more then one set.

Important Information and FAQs

The Return station has a video camera installed that keeps track of what gets returned. Please DO NOT return anything other than the scrubs like towels, gowns, trash, etc… If we do find such items, we will track the individual and make a report to your Nursing Manager where disciplinary actions will take place. 

  • If I already selected my scrub set size, how can I change it?

There are 2 ways. One, when you login on the Issue Station press STOP located on the bottom of the screen. From there, select the desired size. Two, contact JONATHAN and he will make the change for you. Jonathan’s contact information is listed on the bottom of this handout. 

  • I entered my login at the Issue Station but I don’t see any flashing green light to show which door my scrubs are located. What should I do?

If you don’t see the flashing green light, check all the doors to see which one opens. Then contact JONATHAN to let him know which door had the problem. 

  • I entered my login at the Issue Station but when I opened the door, there were no scrubs in there. What should I do?

Contact JOHNATHAN to receive credit for the false issue 

  • I entered my login but was issued a different scrub set size. What should I do? Return the incorrect set back to the Return Station to get credit. Look at the Issued Station’s display screen when you enter your login and then press STOP. See if your scrubset size is available. If not, the station is currently out of that size. Select your next available size. 
  • I entered my login but the door where the flashing green light doesn’t unlock. What should I do?

On the Issue Station’s display screen, press STOP then select a different scrub set size to at least get scrubs. 

  • I returned my scrubs but didn’t get credit for it. What should I do?

Contact JOHNATHAN to get credit. 

  • I can’t return my scrubs because the Return Station says its FULL. What should I do? Place your scrub set in the BLUE hamper located near the Scrub Stations. Contact JOHNATHAN for credit and about the problem; we will contact Linen services to empty the return station. 
  • My login is not working. What should I do?
