Several treatment modalities are now available for both fertility preservation and infertility treatment, including egg and embryo cryopreservation and assisted reproductive technology (ART), of which in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) is the most common procedure.
Initiating these conversations and undergoing these procedures can be very intimidating, but we as a community are equally committed to supporting our colleagues pursuing fertility treatment and ART as we are to pregnant trainees and their partners. Below you will find a link to a list of mentors who can speak to their experiences with fertility preservation and IVF.
Finally, all residents at UCSF are entitled to a $30,000 fertility benefit package through Carrot Fertility that can offset the significant costs associated with this care.
